Hello there! ArduBlock is a graphical Arduino programmer (think Scratch) that will really be helpful for many of you… Let’s get it installed and we can play with it =)
This is a trial version of Ardublock for Arduino. Unzip the zip file into Arduino software root directory, so that the Tools folder merge into the Tool folder of Arduino. Start Arduino software and configure the COM port and board option as usual. Make sure you start with a clean sketch. Go to Tools-Ardublock to launch. Installing ArduBlock. ArduBlock is something of an 'add-on' to Arduino, so it requires that you have the Arduino IDE installed. The benefit of that, though, is - because Arduino is multi-platform - ArduBlock works on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Plus, having Arduino already present makes the transition from visual programming to text programming easier, when the inevitability approaches. Wiki tutorial - ArduBlock! You get an invaluable source of knowledge about connecting modules to Arduino and block programming on ArduBlock.

1. The first thing you need to do is install the Arduino IDE. You can click here to download version 1.0.6 for Mac OS X or you can visit the downloads page to see other options.

2. Download this special ArduBlock package (from SparkFun). It is a .zip file containing a few folders that have been organized in a very specific way.
3. Move the file “tools.zip” (don’t unzip it yet) to the folder named, “Arduino” inside your “Documents” folder.
4. Now you can unzip the file “tools.zip” Depending on how you’ve customized your Arduino IDE (or not) you may have other items inside the “Arduino” folder.
5. Double-check to make sure the folder structure is still in tact. Starting from the “Documents” folder you should see folders inside folders in this order: “Documents/Arduino/tools/ArduBlockTool/tool/ardublock-sandbox-071814.jar” If you don’t see this order you can change the folder names so they match the above perfectly.
6. Once you’ve got this installed you can open Arduino 1.0.6 (or quit and restart if its already open) and you will see a new option in the “Tools” menu

7. Click on ArduBlock, it looks like this (go ahead and move it so you can see the IDE and ArduBlock at the same time)
8. Try something… Like make a light blink… can you make it work? Here is a video that can give you some ideas:

9. One last thing… did you notice that as you move the program tiles around in ArduBlock the code actually gets written and updated in the IDE!?!?!?! Isn’t that SOOOO HELPFUL!!!
